“Let Down Sunday?”
OK, Sunday was definitely my favorite service in the history of Connection Church and maybe in the history of church period! It was so cool to see 6 people trust Jesus for salvation and cross from death to life! Jesus is amazing and still does amazing things!
I didn’t realize until this week that this Sunday, the Sunday after Easter, is considered “let down Sunday” in ministry circles. Because of the hype of Easter and all that goes into Easter preparations the Sunday after Easter is typically a “down Sunday”, or so I am told. Here’s my problem with that…THE TOMB IS JUST AS EMPTY TODAY AS IT WAS ON EASTER MORNING AND THAT SHOULD BE CELEBRATED EVERYDAY! The same God that moves on Easter Sunday moves every other Sunday! I can promise you this Sunday we are going to celebrate Jesus and the life He gives us every bit as much as we did last week! We don’t serve a God whose power is dictated by holidays or traditions. We serve a God who desires to work in the hearts of people everyday!
I want to encourage you not to let up! Keep pressing into God! Keep investing in people and inviting them to church! I promise there won’t be any coffins on the stage this week to freak them out! J But we will be celebrating the promise of life that we have in Christ who is our true “Superhero!” CAN’T WAIT!!
P.S. Be praying for lost people to be found this Sunday and for the community service day coming up on the 29th when we get to show this community the tangible love of Jesus together!
