It’s Never The Way We Think!
What an awesome Sunday we experienced together! God is so good and faithful! I am amazed at the way God never does things the way we think that He is going to! It’s always been that way with God. Just thinking through a few people in scripture it’s very easy to see that God always has a greater plan than we do! For example…Abraham had no idea that he would become the father of “many nations” after he and his wife were beyond their childbearing years; Moses had no idea that God would use plagues and the parting of a sea to deliver Israel from Egypt; David had no idea when He was tending sheep that He would one day be a great king over God’s people; Gideon never dreamed that when God called him to deliver the Israelites from the hand of Midian God would do it with 300 men; the first disciples had no idea that God was establishing a spiritual Kingdom through Jesus not a military one! The list could go on and on! He just does things in a way that we would never think and a way that He receives the credit!
I have to admit that the way the service closed on Sunday was totally different than what I had expected! We prayed through and planned the service to get people to a place of decision but in my mind I envisioned people coming at one time to the alter for salvation not people coming one at the time to the alter for salvation! But how cool was it to witness 5 people, one by one, take their next step and boldly proclaim their need for Jesus! (So far this year we have been able to see a total of 12 people trust Jesus for their salvation! Praise God for people going from death to life in Christ!!) It was amazing to stand on the stage, not being able to see the back of the auditorium very clearly, and to all of a sudden hear a wave of applause moving from the back to the front as people made their way down the isle! THAT’S AWESOME! I’ll take God’s plan over mine any day!!
I am already so excited about this Sunday! I can’t wait to see what God does next! Keep praying for salvations as we connect unbelievers to God! Also, We believe that salvation is just the first of many steps in our spiritual journey with God! Part of that journey is living life together in fellowship with other believers! Because this is so important we also want to connect you to other believers. So if you aren’t in a Connect Group (small group) take your next step and get in one! We weren’t meant to do life alone! If you want to join a Connect Group you can email us at firstname.lastname@example.org, text joingroup to 99000 (include your name and email in the text) or, if you want to go “old school” you can call us at (912) 871-5849!
Remember to invest in and invite someone this week! Love you guys! Love our church!
