Community Service Day Details!
Here are a few details about the Service Day this Saturday!
We will be kicking off the day in the SHS parking lot at 9 AM. We are asking that all Team Leaders be at SHS by 8:30 AM. We are planning to divide off into 27 different teams and then hit the community for construction, landscaping, cleaning, and children’s ministry projects. There will be something for everyone to do! The projects will last until approximately 3 PM (Some may end a little earlier or later depending on the project.) Dress for work and make sure you wear close toed shoes. We will be providing lunch for everyone on the project sites.
There will also be plenty for the children to do as well! Babies through kindergarten will be cared for at the white house (326 S. Main St. next to the old Sonic). Parents you can check your children in beginning at 8:30. They will play games, make crafts, participate in activities and have a bible lesson. Ist through 5th graders will meet at SHS at 9:00 a.m. At 10:00 a.m., we will go to Gentilly Gardens to play games and make crafts with the residents. After lunch, 1st and 2nd graders will go to Mill Creek park to play with children from foster care. 3rd through 5th graders will go to Mr. & Mrs. Jeff Williams’ house to clean up the yard, plant flowers, pot flowers/plants and tend to the garden.
One last thing…we would like to ask anyone who can to bring a pair of new athletic shoes (children’s sizes 10- adult size 5) for children in need in the Screven County Schools. This need was brought to our attention by a pastor friend of mine and we are partnering with their church (Believers in Sylvania) to help put shoes on these children’s feet!
If you have any questions email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. I’ve included the video from last year’s outreach below if you’d like to take a look. Thanks for your heart for God and for others! I can’t wait until Saturday!
See you then! GATA
